Biography
The Mess We Made (2003) by Matt Elliott was the first album to be released under the artist’s own name following the hiatus of The Third Eye Foundation. A no less harrowing and eerie record than some of its predecessors, it features live instruments, vocals and the "Drunk Ensemble of Chancelade" on an album that introduced Elliott’s new musical vernacular - a sort of dark, largely beatless, Bohemian torch song of the mind.
Album Description
Alternating between the dark, beautiful, plaintive and frankly rather spiffing, The Mess We Made was a seminal change of direction for our man in rural France.
