James Yorkston and The Athletes | 05/10/07
Never one to shy away from an invitation and known for transforming events into occasions, Mr James Yorkston will be performing a special one-off show…well, actually he’ll be doing three different one-off shows if that makes sense.
Firstly, he’ll be roaring the gospel in a special collaboration with Magic Arm, whose "fragile melodies are a must see" according to The Independent. It’s the first in a series of events curated by Switchflicker Records on Saturday 20th October at the Contact Theatre in Manchester.
Then, as part of the BBC Electric Proms, James Yorkston is playing in a tribute to one of his main influences, the great Lal Waterson. Performing alongside Alasdair Roberts, Kathryn Williams, Lisa Knapp and the Waterson Carthy in Cecil Sharp House, London, on Thursday 25th October.
And finally, a gift to warm the cockles, and even the sub-cockles of your heart. The annual Eat Your Own Ears presents their special Christmas show, on Thursday 20th December at The Luminaire in North London with mulled wine, mince pies and various guests throughout the evening.
