I was just listening to The Jesters' "Cadillac Man" last night, and playing a friend the 'Dixie Fried' LP the day before. I am very sad to hear today that Jim Dickinson has passed away. He was an incredibly gifted producer, a very strange maker of records, and someone I would love to have worked with. His recent spoken word record was beautiful, and for anyone who has never seen him in action, the William Eggleston film, 'Stranded in Canton', is a must-see. It is a real shame he won't be around to make any more wonderful music.
